Company History

2024

First Sales in Germany & Aviation Expansion: We achieved a significant success with the first sale of a FRIKE rumble strip handling machine including our positionally stable rumble strips to Autobahn GmbH des Bundes. We also expanded our presence in aviation, successfully selling our StopLane system to Munich and Istanbul airports.

2023

Definitive Generational Transition: Peter Baur handed over the leadership of the company to his son Tim Baur, who was appointed CEO. Additionally, the our positionally stable rumble strip was approved in Germany, a major milestone for the company.

2018

Second Generation Steps In: Tim Baur joined the company as CTO to drive technological advancements and innovation.

2017

Expansion & Innovation Boost: Our expansion persisted with the construction of a new warehouse and integration of a dedicated research and development laboratory into our facilities. Led by Tim Baur, this laboratory significantly strengthened our capacity for innovation.

2010

New Headquarters: Our growth continued with the construction and inauguration of our modern company headquarters at Signalstrasse 1 in Hüntwangen, marking a pivotal step in our development.

2005

First Export and first Patent: We ventured into international markets with our innovative proprietary products and began export activities. The same year, we received our first patent for automatied warning devices for road maintenance - a major achievement in traffic safety.

2002

First Major Rail Contract: Our expertise pays off as we secured a groundbreaking rail project with the RAILAMP system, marking a significant milestone in railway traffic safety.

1994

Expansion into the Romandie: With the establishment of FRIKE electronic SA, we expand our presence to serve the French-speaking region of Switzerland.

1991

Founding of FRIKE electronic AG: Peter Baur officially founded our company and opened the first office at Schulstrasse in Wil/ZH.

1988

The Start of a Vision: On January 1, 1988, Peter Baur laid the foundation for today's FRIKE electronic AG by establishing the company, Peter Baur “Elektrotechnische Unternehmung”.
